Biodiversity Policy
We have established and publicly declared a biodiversity principle within our Environmental Policy, reaffirming our commitment to biodiversity conservation.
[Environmental Management Principles]
Biodiversity Protection
We develop and implement policies and guidelines to protect biodiversity across all business and site operations
- 1. We establish systems to identify, avoid, and mitigate or reduce risks that may negatively affect ecosystems surrounding our business sites.
- 2. We do not install or operate facilities or equipment in designated protected areas for species conservation.
- 3. We actively promote and expand initiatives aimed at the conservation, restoration, and enhancement of ecosystems.
Biodiversity Management Strategy
Recognizing biodiversity conservation as a core pillar in addressing climate change and securing a sustainable future, we have designated biodiversity as a long-term strategic priority and pursue integrated management alongside climate-related issues.
As part of this commitment, we have adopted a spatially explicit approach aligned with the TNFD’s LEAP framework, enabling us to systematically assess biodiversity-related risks across 35 key business sites and 368 logistics infrastructure assets in Korea. Through overlay analyses utilizing data on legally protected endangered species (as defined in Annex 1 of the Wildlife Protection and Management Act) and the Korea Database on Protected Areas (KDPA), we identify high-risk areas. We also evaluate the level of nature dependency and potential impacts across major business areas, including air logistics, construction, and resort operations, to ensure comprehensive and integrated management of biodiversity risks.

Assessment of Ecosystem Dependencies and Impacts
Recognizing that the timing and characteristics of biodiversity risks differ by business segment, we have developed tailored management strategies for each sector. In logistics, we emphasize low-impact design throughout operations to minimize ecological disturbance. The construction sector prioritizes early-stage risk mitigation through careful site selection and proactive management of permitting challenges. Meanwhile, the resort sector focuses on preserving and enhancing biodiversity values during the operational phase, thereby supporting both sustainable biodiversity use and enriching customer experience quality.

Biodiversity Conservation Activities
We have established Business Continuity Plans (BCP) tailored to each business site to enable coordinated crisis response and minimize damage caused by natural disasters. Based on these plans, we regularly conduct safety training for employees that includes scenarios involving natural disasters, thereby strengthening our overall response capabilities.
Regarding biodiversity risk management, we actively engage diverse stakeholders, including employees, customers, and local communities, through initiatives such as environmental cleanup activities near our sites, carbon offset forest creation events, and urban forest projects. These efforts promote biodiversity conservation and foster community involvement. Furthermore, to prevent deforestation during business operations, we have clearly committed to forest preservation through our No Deforestation Declaration. In addition, we have incorporated biodiversity protection policies within our Environmental Management Principles, reflecting our ongoing dedication to sustainable business practices.
[No Deforestation Declaration]
- 1. We will take lead in preventing deforestation to protect all life forms dependent on forests. We will continue to undertake activities aimed at this goal.
- 2. We will minimize deforestation during the establishment of new business sites and aim to restore green areas, including forests, upon withdrawal from existing operations.
- 3. We will comply with forest regulations and obligations in the regions and countries where our business sites are located, COLLABORATING with citizens and environmental organizations for forest creation and greening.
- 4. We will work with our suppliers to establish a monitoring process to assess and improve deforestation risks.
- 5. We will strive to achieve No Gross Deforestation and enhance environmental protection by actively implementing eco-friendly policies.
Sustainable Golf Course Management
We actively implement a range of biodiversity conservation initiatives. At Haesley Nine Bridges and Club Nine Bridges, resorts operated by our Resort Division, we utilize border collies, specially trained guard dogs, to safely guide animals that stray onto golf course turf back to their natural habitats, helping prevent direct damage to the landscape. In addition, we invested approximately KRW 5.5 million to introduce freshwater snails as a natural water purification method, reducing reliance on chemical treatments and fostering a more environmentally friendly golf course. These efforts have contributed to the creation of habitats that support the presence of protected species, including the eagle-owl and mandarin duck. Recognized for the positive impact of such sustainability practices, we have obtained certification from the Golf Environment Organization (GEO) for our environmentally responsible golf course management.
* GEO(Golf Environment Organization) is a globally recognized environmental certification body that evaluates the sustainability and eco-friendliness of golf courses worldwide. It grants eco-friendly golf course certifications and provides consultation and support to ensure that international golf tournaments are conducted in an environmentally responsible manner.
